The Asylum Seekers and Refugees Solidarity Association (ARSA) recognizes child protection as a fundamental human right and a core priority across all its activities. ARSA is committed to ensuring that asylum-seeker and refugee children grow up in safe, supportive, and dignified environments that promote their well-being and development.
ARSA’s child protection work is guided by the best interests of the child and focuses on preventive and protective approaches to address risks such as neglect, abuse, violence, exploitation, and harmful practices. Through case identification, counselling, referral, and follow-up mechanisms, ARSA supports children who are at risk or in need of protection and connects them with appropriate services.
The association strives to create child-friendly, safe, and inclusive spaces where children’s physical, psychological, and social well-being is safeguarded. ARSA also conducts awareness-raising activities for children and caregivers, promotes knowledge of children’s rights, and ensures that children’s views are respected and taken into consideration.
ARSA implements its child protection activities in close coordination with public institutions, social service providers, health and education authorities, and civil society organizations. In line with its Child Safeguarding Policy, ARSA applies strict preventive measures, confidentiality standards, and accountability mechanisms for all staff, volunteers, and stakeholders working with children.
ARSA’s approach to child protection is rights-based, non-discriminatory, confidential, and grounded in the “do no harm” principle. Beyond protection from harm, ARSA aims to empower children to feel safe, heard, and supported, and to reach their full potential within their communities.
