The Asylum Seekers and Refugees Solidarity Association (ARSA) recognizes the protection of women as a fundamental human right and an essential component of social justice and human dignity. ARSA is committed to safeguarding the safety, rights, and well-being of asylum-seeker and refugee women and to strengthening protection mechanisms against violence, discrimination, and all forms of abuse.
ARSA’s women protection work is carried out through a gender-sensitive and rights-based approach, addressing risks such as gender-based violence, neglect, exploitation, forced marriage, human trafficking, and other protection concerns. The association provides case identification, counselling, referral, and follow-up services for women who are at risk or in need of protection.
To support women’s physical, psychological, and social well-being, ARSA offers psychosocial support services, along with awareness-raising and information activities. These efforts aim to empower women by increasing their awareness of their rights, strengthening their decision-making capacities, and supporting their active participation in social life.
ARSA implements its women protection activities in close cooperation with public institutions, social service providers, health and legal authorities, and civil society organizations. Through safe and confidential referral mechanisms, women are supported in accessing appropriate services in a timely and secure manner.
ARSA’s approach to women protection is human-centered, confidential, non-discriminatory, and grounded in the “do no harm” principle. Beyond protection from harm, ARSA seeks to empower women, promote resilience, and support their ability to live with dignity, safety, and equality within their communities.
