Family protection is a core component of the Asylum Seekers and Refugees Solidarity Association’s (ARSA) work. Families form the foundation of social stability, mental and emotional well-being, and empowerment, and safeguarding their security, dignity, and welfare—especially in vulnerable situations—is a key priority for ARSA.

ARSA focuses on refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable individuals, including low-income families, women heads of households, children, older persons, and individuals with special needs. The association works to create safe, stable, and supportive environments for families. This includes strengthening family bonds, preventing violence, empowering parents, and ensuring access to social, health, and psychosocial services.

ARSA’s family protection activities include:

  • Providing counselling and referral to specialized social, legal, health, and psychosocial services

  • Conducting parent and caregiver training to manage crises, resolve conflicts, and develop life skills

  • Organizing programs to empower children and adolescents to grow up healthy, safe, and resilient within their families

  • Raising community awareness about family rights, violence prevention, and available support mechanisms

  • Strengthening local networks and volunteer initiatives to provide timely and sustainable responses to family needs

Leveraging field experience, a wide volunteer network, and strong partnerships with public institutions and civil society organizations, ARSA is committed to advancing family protection as an effective tool to safeguard, empower, and enhance the well-being of vulnerable individuals and refugees, creating safe, dignified, and sustainable environments for all family members.
