Afghan Refugees Solidarity Association organized the fifth session of its information series with the aim of raising awareness on 16th of July. In this session, lawyer Şeyma Herdem provided a detailed briefing on the causes of the prevalence of child labor, international conventions, regulations in domestic law, and the risks and effects of employing child labor.

With Şeyma Herdem's presentation, the participants had the opportunity to understand the roots and reasons behind child labor, explore the international community's commitments and protective measures regarding child labor, and learn about the role of regulations in domestic law in preventing child labor. They also discussed the negative effects of child labor on children's physical and psychological health, restricted access to education opportunities, and hindered social development.

At the end of the session, an interactive question and answer segment was organized among the participants. During this segment, participants asked questions related to child labor, and they were answered by Şeyma Herdem. In this way, the participants deepened their knowledge about child labor and developed further awareness about the subject.

This event was held within the scope of profect called "Improving Community-based Social Services for Refugees and Vulnerable Residents of Host Communities in Türkiye (CLIP 2)” which is co-funded by the European Union through its Humanitarian Aid Operations department (ECHO) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
