On Sunday, June 3rd, ARSA team traveled to Malatya City to visit earthquake-affected immigrants living in tent camps in the city.

During this trip, accompanied by three colleagues from the ARSA, we had the opportunity to meet earthquake-affected migrants residing in Malatya City and discuss their problems with them. We had a meeting with the camp management and learned about the assistance provided to the earthquake victims and discussed future activities. As part of this trip, we distributed cash assistance to more than 50 earthquake-affected families.

The earthquake that occurred on February 6th caused serious damage to eleven provinces in southeastern Turkey, resulting in the death of over 50,000 people and injuries to more than 100,000 people. Among the affected individuals, nearly 400 Afghan migrant families were severely affected by this earthquake, and it has been reported that around 100 of them have been killed or injured.

The ARSA Association has conducted various activities in the past three months to serve this affected population. These activities include:

  1. Payment of two months' rent for 217 affected families.
  2. Distribution of 540 shopping vouchers to the earthquake victims from a supermarket chain.
  3. Benefiting 1,937 individuals from the services of the ARSA Association in the past three months.
  4. Providing humanitarian and livelihood services to scattered earthquake-affected individuals in 50 provinces of Turkey.
  5. Handling 412 files related to the earthquake-affected individuals.
  6. Providing the easiest types of remote and banking services to the affected individuals.
  7. Personal travel to Hatay city for cash assistance distribution.
  8. Personal travel to Kahramanmaras city for cash assistance distribution.
  9. Personal travel to Malatya city for cash assistance distribution.

Through these activities, the ARSA Association strives to help the earthquake victims and Afghan refugees living in earthquake-affected areas, and aims to improve the lives of these individuals in the face of challenges and difficulties.
