Founder and President of the Afghan Refugee Solidarity Association, Md. Zakira Hekmat gave a live interview to BBC Persian. Hekmat gave information about the earthquake in Turkey and the situation of the immigrants and refugees living in the affected cities.

She talked about the working areas of ARSA and the money donation campaign, blood donation campaign and volunteer movement that he started 4 days ago for earthquake victims. He prepared a list of 300 volunteers from all over Turkey to help the Southeastern Anatolia region. Hekmat confirmed to the BBC that there are no exact statistics on possible Afghan casualties in the last earthquake, but dozens of Afghan families lived in most of the quake-affected areas.

He said he knew of the volunteers at least two Afghan refugees dead and five other Afghan refugees seriously injured.
