As part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, ARSA organized its inaugural traditional chess tournament. Thirty children selected through the participation form shared on ARSA's website and social media platforms gathered at the ARSA Office to play chess in a specially prepared area. The tournament, played under the Swiss System, featured the participation of Veysi Arslan, the representative of the Turkish Chess Federation, and other officials as referees.

Following the tournament, an award ceremony was held at the Kayseri Öğretmenevi with the participants and guests. During the ceremony, Dr. Zakira Hekmat, the association's director, delivered an opening speech emphasizing ARSA's commitment to activities aimed at the development and education of children, referring to previous educational activities for children. Veysi Arslan, the Kayseri representative of the Turkish Chess Federation, also spoke about the impact of chess on children's development and previous successes, expressing gratitude to ARSA for organizing this event.

After the speeches, certificates and stationery sets were presented to the 30 participating children. Additionally, medals were awarded to the top 4 participants of the tournament.

The ceremony concluded with refreshments for all attendees and lively entertainment with music.

This event was held within the scope of profect called "Improving Community-based Social Services for Refugees and Vulnerable Residents of Host Communities in Türkiye (CLIP 2)” which is co-funded by the European Union through its Humanitarian Aid Operations department (ECHO) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
