The National Reference Group (NRG) in Turkey organized a workshop on general management overhead costs (GMOCs) for local and national actors on June 26, 2024, in Ankara. The workshop was organized by the Local Advocacy Group and the Turkish Refugee Council, which are part of the NRG secretariat.

The workshop's objectives included sharing the findings of global research and the IASC Guidelines, reviewing current policies and practices in Turkey, and developing a common roadmap for GMOCs and risk sharing. It also aimed to facilitate further discussions on ensuring that GMOCs are provided as a standard practice to all local and national actors.

The workshop brought together a wide range of key stakeholders from Turkey, both local and national, as well as international. These stakeholders included the 9 members of the NRG (ECHO, PRM, GIZ, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNDP, Concern Türkiye, YSG, and TMK), funders in Turkey, UN agencies, INGOs (many of whom are signatories to the Grand Bargain), local and national civil society organization networks (YSG, TMK, TİF, Disaster Platform, and other relevant networks), the Turkish Red Crescent and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, donor organizations that provided support following the February 6 earthquake, and representatives of public institutions.
