Afghan Refugees Solidarity Association, in collaboration with the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), organized a transformative two-day conference on volunteers and volunteering activities. Held on November 4 and 5 in the vibrant city of Mersin, Turkey, the event gathered 15 dedicated participants from Kayseri, Mersin, and other cities across Turkey. This unique initiative aimed to provide comprehensive training to individuals who, despite their asylum seeker status, have demonstrated years of voluntary work experience with ARSA Association.

The conference featured enlightening sessions conducted by experienced educators and experts. Participants delved into diverse topics, including the pivotal role of volunteers in shaping societies, the inherent value of volunteer activities, and the pressing needs of communities that can be met through active volunteer networks. Moreover, the program emphasized the vital responsibilities and rights of volunteers, equipping attendees with essential knowledge to create positive social impacts. All attendees were asylum seekers who had entered Turkey in previous years and subsequently applied for asylum. Despite their challenging circumstances, these individuals demonstrated unwavering dedication to voluntary activities, showcasing their resilience and commitment to making a difference in their adopted communities.
