Every migrant has a name. Every life matters.

Since 2014, more than 75,000 migrants have gone missing or lost their lives while seeking safety and dignity.
Thousands more disappear each year. Behind every number is a person — and behind every disappearance, a family waiting for truth.

We therefore call on the United Nations General Assembly to officially recognize an
“International Day of Remembrance for Missing and Deceased Migrants.”

This day will:

- Honor the memory of those who went missing or lost their lives,
- Protect the families’ right to know,
- Remind states of their responsibilities for search and rescue, data sharing, and family support.
