An International Migration Law Workshop was held on April 29–30, 2026, hosted by Erciyes University Faculty of Law, bringing together representatives from academia, public institutions, and civil society on a common platform. The workshop saw strong participation from academics affiliated with Ankara University, Bilkent University, Yalova University, and Erciyes University, as well as local civil society organizations and public institutions.

Representing ARSA, the association’s Director Dr. Zakira Hekmat and a legal advisor participated in the workshop, where current developments in migration law practices—particularly in Kayseri and across Türkiye—were comprehensively discussed. Challenges encountered in the field, the functioning of existing practices, and areas requiring improvement were evaluated from multiple perspectives with contributions from different stakeholders.

During the sessions, key recommendations focused on strengthening legal processes in migration with a more effective, accessible, and rights-based approach. The exchange of knowledge and experience among participants produced valuable outcomes that are expected to contribute to improving field practices.

At the end of the two-day workshop, it was announced that the findings will be compiled into a report by academics and shared with relevant institutions and stakeholders. The workshop was considered a significant step toward enhancing collaboration and joint problem-solving capacity in the field of migration law.
