ARSA held an information session for refugees on the topic of depression and anxiety disorders. Our psychologist Mahsa Rajabi, informed participants of the different kinds of depression and anxiety disorders, as well as how to regulate and handle them.

Participants were asked to partake in a survey which questioned the level of depression and anxiety they experience in their lives, and unfortunately 96% of participants indicated that they faced high levels of depression and anxiety in their everyday lives.

ARSA hopes that these information sessions can help refugees understand the importance of taking care of their physical and mental health as well as understanding how to combat mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. With high levels of stress in their daily lives, Afghan refugees are at high risk of developing depression and anxiety disorders.
