As part of the activities of the “ACAR Project: Invisible Barriers – Access to Rights for Children with Disabilities in the Context of Displacement in Türkiye,” ARSA Association conducted institutional visits and held meetings with relevant organizations in Van.

Within this framework, meetings were held with representatives of the Human Resource Development Foundation (İKGV), a civil society organization working in Van, and representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The key topics discussed during the meetings included:

Access to Rights and Services:
The structural and practical barriers faced by displaced children with disabilities in accessing international protection mechanisms, education, healthcare, social services, and psychosocial support were assessed through a holistic approach.

Field Experiences and Protection Work:
Field experiences from work with vulnerable and at-risk groups were shared, with particular attention to the increasing needs of refugee children with disabilities and special needs, as well as observations from case follow-up and protection processes.
