MD. Zakira Hekmat, the Founder and President of the Afghan Refugees Solidarity Association, participated in the Regional Consultations with European NGOs organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on September 19-20, 2023.

The meeting took place at the International Cultural Center in Geneva, Switzerland, and brought together participants representing 108 different civil society organizations.

MD. Zakira Hekmat's invitation to represent Turkey at this event made a significant contribution to its content and purpose. As the Founder and President of the Afghan Refugees Solidarity Association, her extensive field experience and expertise in refugee issues allowed her to play an influential role at this important platform. Her participation underscored the importance of Turkey's commitment to addressing refugee challenges and international solidarity, further strengthening the pursuit of the forum's objectives.
