Last week, ARSA held another information session led by our psychologist Mahsa Rajabi. The session covered the topic of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and ways to recognize symptoms, as well as coping mechanisms for refugees who may experience symptoms of PTSD.
We also distributed a survey to understand the level which refugees might be impacted by PTSD as many refugees have faced traumatic experiences which have left them with symptoms of PTSD.
We hope our information sessions can provide awareness to the refugee community on the importance of mental health as well as coping mechanisms and self care for refugees who face mental health issues as a result of their migration experiences.
