The Asylum Seekers and Refugees Solidarity Association (ARSA) offers Turkish language courses for refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable individuals. These courses are designed to help participants communicate effectively in daily life, integrate into society, and access educational or employment opportunities more easily. In addition to language skills, the programs aim to build participants’ confidence and promote social cohesion, providing a supportive environment for empowerment and personal development.

ARSA delivers these courses in close collaboration with governmental institutions, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and international organizations. These partnerships ensure that the courses are of high quality, sustainable, and capable of addressing both the immediate and long-term needs of participants, supporting their social and economic integration.

The courses are structured to accommodate different proficiency levels and provide a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Cultural awareness and community interaction are also emphasized, strengthening ties between refugees, asylum seekers, vulnerable individuals, and the host community.

Leveraging field experience, a broad volunteer network, and strong partnerships, ARSA is committed to offering Turkish language courses as an effective tool for enhancing language skills, promoting social cohesion, and empowering participants, ensuring an accessible, safe, and supportive learning environment for all.

In 2017 with the support of our volunteer teachers, our association started to teach Turkish to refugee and asylum-seekers adults and children.

Turkish courses are given at A1, A2 and B1 levels. It is aimed to gain four basic language skills (reading, speaking, writing and listening) in Turkish education.

During the pandemic, ARSA established online education system. Turkish courses are created by considering the working and availability of the trainees. Our trainers were from Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran. Trainings are given in 4 different time periods: daytime on weekdays, evening on weekdays, daytime on weekends and evening on weekends.
