As part of the “ACAR Project: Invisible Barriers – Access to Rights for Children with Disabilities in the Context of Displacement in Türkiye”, ARSA Association met with Van ASAM to strengthen rights-based cooperation and local coordination in the field.
In line with the objectives of the project, we visited Van ASAM (SGDD) and held a comprehensive meeting with the organization’s representatives.

Access to Rights and Services:
The challenges faced by displaced children with disabilities in the Van region in accessing protection, education, healthcare, and rehabilitation services were discussed, with particular attention to the “invisible barriers” they encounter.
Field Experience and Case Sharing:
Field observations, good practices, and joint protection mechanisms addressing the specific needs of asylum-seeking and refugee children in the region were reviewed and discussed.
Inter-Institutional Solidarity:
The importance of rights-based support for children with disabilities and their families, strengthening referral networks, and working together to raise community awareness was emphasized.
